Just finished a BA Hons reading English at Sidney Sussex College. I now spend most of my time clicking in and around Manchester, venue hunting for shoots and looking where to go next with a camera! (Suggest somewhere to me!)

I shoot with a Fuji S6500fd and a little Samsung NV8 Also playing around with some instant polaroid thing (Fujifilm Instax 200). Will see how that works out... Some of the older photos (in fact most of them) were taken with a wonderful little Fuji F470 (monsooned-to-death in the Himalaya, RIP).

May Morning Madrigals
Performance of the the 500 year old tradition of May Morning Madrigals by the Choir of Sidney Sussex College from the balcony of Sidney Sussex Hall Court over the courtyard and Sidney Street. Wonderful.

I recommend prints in 7x5 - black and whites / black, white and red in gloss, matt for colour. The photographs can go much larger (and a bit smaller) though slight cropping may occur (or adding of small borders may be required). Watermarks do not feature on printed copies.

I realised I'd been living here for three years and not taken that many photos (funny eh?), so decided to rectify this by capturing the sides of Sidney not usually seen. These bright colours and high-contrast black and white shots reflect a sample of some of my favourite photos of this wonderful college. More to follow.

Or 'Mr Macro goes flower-picking'
A good way to walk off breakfast. From Sidney Sussex up Green Street and down through the side door of Trinity. Across the backs and through Clare College, past the front of Caius, Senate House and back to Sidney. Phew!
Some experiments in macro on all the lovely flowers in Trinity and Clare. They really are fantastic!

Sidney Sussex Access Bus 2008
The Sidney Sussex Access Bus 2008 led by Priya Rao setting off into deepest, darkest Merseyside to promote Sidney Sussex College and Cambridge in North-West state schools. The rain certainly didn't dampen spirits!

Stockport II
The first few of what I hope yo be a fair sized second set of my home town Stockport. Just to prove the place isn't all monocrome I've ventured into colour. These photos were taken on my little pocket camera walking from the bus stop down the main road into the centre. I hope to get back down to town with my proper set up and get some more (and better) shots soon.

The Pfigliano 5 were formed in a drunken haze in late 2006 by a lecherous American tenor and his entourage of besotted undergrads. Though the line-up has changed, the spirit remains and they have already performed many times this year, including a very well-received interlude at the 1596 Foundation Feast at Sidney Sussex College and a regular set with the Sidney Sussex College Music Society (SSCMS). Their repertoire covers all corners of the cheese-spectrum, from classic barbershop numbers to Disney arrangements to quaint, mildly xenophobic music-hall songs from the 1920s.

The Dashwood Cup (colour)
Colour set from the first annual Dashwood Cup between the Rugby 1st XV of Sidney Sussex College and the Sidney Old Boys in honour of Dr. Dashwood; Porcs patron. The Old Boys won. Brutally.
